Cal. 357 Mag. S# S136749. Bbl. 6". Ramped serrated blade front sight with orange insert. Adjustable square notch rear sight with white outline. Matching numbers on frame, bbl., cyl & extractor. 1955 made five-screw Pre-27 revolver. Blued finish. S&W marking & serial number have added yellow highlight paint. Trigger & hammer appear to have been polished bright. Revolver also appears to have had an action job. Checkered walnut diamond center grips with mismatch number right panel & silver S&W medallions. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter that states the gun shipped with a Patridge front sight but otherwise confirms its configuration. The letter further states it was part of a 16 gun shipment to Sloan's Sporting Goods in NYC in 1955. CONDITION: back of left grip panel shows a repaired crack along its length, grips otherwise show some handling marks. Hammer & trigger show some operational wear. Balance of metal retains 92% original blue with a patch of scratches on cyl., scattered light oxidation & some operational wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows a moderate bulge about 1/3 down from muzzle but otherwise has strong rifling. (25-1238/MJC). CURIO. $800-1,200.
